The boring bit for parents

AWANA is a Bible-based after-school club that runs during school term time. It aims to help in your child’s overall development through a series of fun, yet challenging, games, activities and teaching.

The games offer the children an opportunity to work as a team, supporting their fellow teammates and focusing on the success of the whole group, regardless of individual limitations or disabilities. The individual activities seek to encourage the children to be self-motivated while working at a pace that is comfortable to them.

AWANA wants the children to not only participate but to complete each task, however small. This re-enforces the achievement experienced when the task is completed, both on a personal level and in the award scheme AWANA uses.

AWANA has a t-shirt based uniform to give the children a sense of identity and unity. We request that children wear shorts/trousers and trainers with their club t-shirts.

Moral values are of high importance and we aim to ensure that these are promoted at all times throughout the evening.

There is a one-off £10 registration fee that entitles the children to their own bag, t-shirt and Bible. A £20 fee per term covers the cost of teaching materials, work books and awards.
